Smart Port
RDM Rotterdam is the place for innovation in the port and the port industrial complex, where education and business work on developments that are contributing to a smart port. The students are educated in an inspiring learning environment where practical skills are offered alongside theory. The combination of education and business, working (together) from idea to prototype and the use of test facilities and field labs make RDM a true innovation hub.
Digitalization
We are deploying digital technologies for sustainable product and transportation chains, such as drones for inspection.
Offshore wind
The European climate goal for 2050 is an 80 to 95 percent reduction in greenhouse gas emissions, and this requires systemic changes.
Hydrogen
By 2050, the port must be CO2 neutral. Our start-ups and scale-ups are working on new emission-free systems and a sustainable transport.
