At RDM Rotterdam you will find over 60 companies. From small to large. Start-ups, SMEs and world players in the maritime and offshore sector contribute to the innovative character of RDM. Innovations are quickly realized here. We will help your company with finding the right connections, and to make it visible through media. Additionally, we form a partnership with the Port of Rotterdam Authority, Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences and Rotterdam Technical College and we work closely with Rotterdam Partners, SmartPort, Deltalinqs and PortXL and its main partner of the brand alliance Rotterdam. Overview

Rent a space

Entrepreneurs working on (maritime) innovation have an advantage with us. There are attractive business and office spaces for rent at RDM Rotterdam. There is space in the Medical Services Building and/or in the Innovation Dock, among others. Interested? Look here for the Real Estate opportunities. Network

When you establish yourself as an entrepreneur at RDM, you also get an extensive network at your disposal. You will be a part of the ecosystem and network of Port Authority and established multinationals. Partners such as RDM Next, iTanks and PortXL organize network meetings. And you will also have access to a digital platform for entrepreneurs throughout the Rotterdam Makers District. This allows everyone to find each other quickly and make contact.

Test facilities

Entrepreneurs can request an internship or project assignment from the Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences and take advantage of its many workshops and field labs. The machines are intended for prototyping and testing. You can make prototypes together with students and use the testing facilities. Among others, there is a woodwork and glue/composites lab, a hydrogen lab, an Aqualab and even a drone port right outside the door. A unique experimental site for aquatic drones in the open water in the dockyard of RDM Rotterdam.

Flexible growth

Flexible business and office spaces are available for rent at RDM. Are you a start-up looking to grow, or are you expanding at a slower pace than expected? Perhaps you need to temporarily scale up? The Innovation Dock offers the perfect space for innovation. Rent a flexible plot in an open area for the duration of your product development, where you can test and demonstrate or evaluate prototypes. We collaborate with you to find the best solutions. There’s always room available, including at Merwe-Vierhavens.

Innovation Connector

You have an idea. But where do you get the knowledge, capacity and facilities to research feasibility and create a concrete prototype? Or do you want to collaborate with education? By no means all companies have space and budget for high-tech equipment, such as industrial robotic arms, 3D metal printers or a hydrological laboratory or access to talent. Through a single point of contact, you will be helped directly to turn your idea into reality, for both temporary and long-term projects. Need an intern?

Do you need an intern? Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences and Rotterdam Technical College train young people who have the ‘21st century skills’ that your business needs. The door to talent is literally wide open here. The college mediates third- and fourth-year (graduation) internships from courses in the technical field. If – in addition to a technology student – you also need an economics student, for example, they can also publish this application.
