The Rotterdamsche Droogdok Maatschappij, once a leading shipyard in the Netherlands, made its mark here. Here, in the former fruit transshipment buildings, and along the quays, a world of creativity, innovation and artisanal activity comes to life. A dynamic place where port and city come together. The Municipality of Rotterdam and the Port Authority are working together to develop the area. We talk about the plans of housing and hospitality projects that will transform the area into a lively residential neighbourhood. The Port of Rotterdam oversees the Galilei Park subarea, currently an undeveloped space poised to become a hub for start-ups and scale-ups. This area will focus on creating a smart port dedicated to energy transition and circularity. Our guided tours will introduce you to vibrant buildings teeming with artists, designers, innovators, and trendy restaurants. The areas RDM Rotterdam and Merwe-Vierhavens (M4H) together form the Rotterdam Makers District. Here, amidst innovation and creativity, you will find the ideal environment for the modern manufacturing industry. Discover why innovating in the Makers District is the key to success. This tour offers a unique combination of both shores, giving you the chance to experience the dynamics of both RDM Rotterdam and M4H. The tour lasts approx. 2 hours and includes a Watertaxi XL powered by hydrogen and/or electricity. Optionally, we can visit the Green Roof Park, for a breathtaking view of the city.
